PLME students benefit from a range of professional enrichment opportunities designed to deepen their understanding of medicine beyond the classroom.
The Whole Patient and Whole Physician Programs explore the humanistic, ethical, and personal dimensions of health care, encouraging students to consider both patient and physician well-being. These programs are supported by the Stanley D. Simon, M.D. Lectureship, established in 1994 to honor Dr. Stanley D. Simon.
PLME students engage in diverse clinical and experiential learning opportunities, grounded in early professionalism training. While shadowing is available in later years, it is just one of many ways to gain clinical exposure. The Medicine in Action experience varies based on each student’s individual interests and opportunities.
Together, these experiences help PLME students develop a more holistic, thoughtful approach to their future in medicine.
