Commencement activities at Brown usually take place around the weekend of Memorial Day.

It is the custom of the Program in Liberal Medical Education to hold a Ceremony of Recognition for its senior PLME class members, their families and friends on the Saturday of Memorial weekend, from 5:00-6:30PM.  The ceremony includes comments from the Associate Dean of Medical Education, and the Associate Dean of Medicine, Julianne Ip, MD.  PLME awards are bestowed on five seniors, and each member of the class will receive a PLME pin from his/her PLME advising dean.  The ceremony is followed by a reception.

Notice of the Ceremony of Recognition is emailed to seniors  and mailed to parents in early spring.
